2 Ways to Read for Free on your Phone

If you’re feeling like me, you’re into saving money and keeping up with your TBR (To Be Read) titles. These free apps will engage your fascination and save your wallet. All you need is a library card for your local public library and a smart phone. Audio-books are my other time-hack for busy people and both apps include phenomenal selections.

1.LIBBYfree

From OverDrive/your local public library, an eBook and audio-book app.

With a wonderful eBook reader and audio-book player, Libby is the marvelous middle-woman in connecting you to your local public library's collections available on your phone. (Previously registered local library card is required.) Within minutes, you can have eBooks or audio-books on your phone. If you prefer reading on your Kindle app, Libby can send the materials to your Kindle app. Brought to you by the genius minds of OverDrive.

2.Hoopla—free

Instantly borrow digital movies, music, eBooks and more, 24/7 with your library card.

Hoopla is one of my favorite public library gifts you give yourself. My local library advertised this app and you can have 6 free items a month--I use the audio-books on my commute and the selections are phenomenal!! From Pam Munoz-Ryan's lyrical middle grade novel Echo with gorgeous music to the hilarious Amy Poehler's Yes Please, I have loved using this app.

Both apps allow you to download to your phone or stream materials. There are a vareity of collections--from adult fiction to children's fiction in both apps. Start the new year off with these apps for a budget-friendly way to keep reading into 2018!!
